Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway and Its Related Roads Project
Description: Design of connection viaduct from South Luzon Expressway Nichols Interchange to NAIA Terminal 3.
Location: Pasay City, Philippines
Client: Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH)
Type of Services: Detailed Design and Construction Supervision
Project Cost: 451 Million Php
Date of Completion: Year 2008
The NAIA Expressway project is situated along Sales Avenue inside Villamor Airbase in Pasay City. The purpose of this project is to provide a viaduct that will link Nichols-South Luzon Expressway Interchange to the new NAIA 3 Terminal and will result in a more efficient and faster travel of people, goods and services.

It is expected that the opening of the new airport terminal to international flights will increase the traffic demand within the vicinity. In connection with this, the project will involve construction of a viaduct along Sales Ave. and the improvement of at-grade level road.

The main structure involved the design of voided slabs, column, bored piles, and coping beams. Where spanning required, voided slabs and coping beams were designed as prestressed components. The highway geometrics of the project made it difficult to use a simpler design. The alignment had to adjust according to the existing facilities of the Airbase.
