The C6 Traffic and Technical Study of the South East Metro Manila Expressway Project aims to assess the technical viability and establish the travel demand of the proposed South East Metro Manila Expressway (SEMME) that will provide alternative routes which extend from South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) up to Marcos Highway through (C6) Circumferential Road 6. The SEMME id foreseen to decongest the existing traffic problems in the eastern corridor of Metro Manila and possible link between SLEX and North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). Thus, it provides an access for motorists coming from the southern part of Manila (e.g. Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, etc.) to the adjacent cities such as Taguig (Global City), Pasig (Ortigas Avenue), Marikina, including some municipalities in Rizal province.

The project alignments is divided into four alternative sections namely: Phase 1, which runs from SLEX to C6 (DMCI Junction); Phase 2, connecting C6 (DMCI Junction) to Ortigas Avenue; Phase 3, which links Ortigas Avenue to Marcos Highway, and; Phase 4, adjoining Marcos Highway to Batasan Complex. To capture the riders in Quezon City, the project was extended up to Tumana Bridge. A comparative analysis is presented showing several options for each of the four alternative sections of the project.
